The second day of diving is just about to kick off over in Honduras with the men’s FIM. Let’s have a look at who’s got a shot at the medals.
Alexey Molchanov – Russia: 121m
Deepest depth announced and I’m confident he’ll make it. Gold to Alexey.
Thibault Guines – France: 105m
The no-packing Frenchman from the Philippines is competing in the world championships for the first time. Quite a step down in depth from Alexey, but it might very well be enough for a bronze medal. More on that below.
Walid Boudhiaf – Tunisia: 117m
Walid announced a new National Record for Tunisia 0f 117m, a white card and the silver medal is his. Though, as much as I would love to see Walid get this right he has a baggage of recent failed dives to mentally overcome. VB2017 118m – failed surface protocol, Caribbean Cup 122m – BO, Training dive before WC2017 117m – counter ballast engaged at ascent. I really hope I’m wrong, but my bet is a red card.
William Trubridge – New Zeeland: 116m
William is going to nail this and grab the silver.., or bronze.
Let the diving begin!
